Fan Made Metroid II Remake

One of the major wave-makers in the retro gaming scene this week comes from a long time fan of the Metroid series. AM2R, a complete Metroid 2 remake done in the Metroid: Zero Mission style was released. You can find more information about the project, which took almost 8 years to create, HERE.

Nintendo, of course, didn't take too kindly to someone using their property to create a whole new game, so they hit every download site with a DCMA notice and basically wiped all ways of acquiring the game off the map. Like they say, however, nothing's truly gone on the internet.

We can attest the game is fantastic looking and plays even better then Metroid: Fusion. Plus there's so much new stuff in the game it's not a remake so much as a re-imagining. If you want to track the game down somehow, it's well worth it. We may do a Twitch playthrough once we figure out how to actually beat it.
